Withdrawal
Although withdrawal is different for everyone, it is a positive sign of recovery and should not be perceived as illness. Detoxification means that nicotine is leaving the body!
Here are some facts and common withdrawal symptoms:
- Will be most bothersome in the first three days and then begin to decrease after 3 or 4 days
- Symptoms are usually gone within 7-10 days
- Client may experience flu-like symptoms (Quitter’s Flu)
- Cravings (although will be lessened by the LASER acupuncture)
- Cough and/or sore throat
- Post-nasal drip
- Constipation, abdominal gas, or stomach pain
- Irritability
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Dry mouth, or sore tongue
- Bad taste in mouth (try combating with mints or gum)
- Clammy sweats which indicates nicotine leaving through the pores of the skin
- Skin smelling of tobacco
After 7-10 days, you’ll be breathing easier, feeling better and have increased energy!
