About the Program
The LASER SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAM consists of three office visits approximately 40-60 minutes in length. The first two treatments are performed 48 hours apart and the third (follow-up) visit is performed four weeks later.
The first visit will consist of a smoking history questionnaire, a brief explanation of the program, and testing of the levels of carbon monoxide in the client’s lungs and bloodstream through a non-invasive breath test similar to a breathalyzer that police would use to test a motorist for alcohol in their system.
Carbon monoxide in the body is directly related to nicotine use and dependence
Laser acupuncture (no needles) is performed on 20 spots on each side of the body, namely the ear, hand/wrist, knee and foot.
The client is lying in a comfortable and relaxed position during the treatment, and some clients have even fallen asleep!
The first treatment is followed up by some lifestyle and nutritional strategies, to help during the detoxification process.
